LaColonia, Inc. is a non-profit corporation sponsored by LULAC Council #11071, and the Rangel Brothers Chapter GI Forum and subsidized by HUD. Its purpose is to provide housing for low and middle income adults who are age 62 and older or require the special design features of an accessible unit.

All of the apartments and cottages have been designed with quality independent living in mind. Each home features wall to wall carpet, a fully equipped kitchen, spacious closets and individually controlled heating and air conditioning. LaColonia provides on-call maintenance, smoke detectors and a personal emergency call system.
